The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) has published a Technical Directive, which aims to define the requirements to be respected by Swiss financial institutions to allow correct transmission of data within the framework defined by the Common Reporting Standard.

This Directive is available at the following link (only in German at present): https://www.estv.admin.ch/estv/it/home/internationales-steuerrecht/fachinformationen/aia/datenuebermittlung.html

In this regard, the Centre for Banking Studies and the Association of Foreign Banks in Switzerland, have been organizing a seminar at the occasion of which the Swiss Federal Tax Administration will present the contents of the Technical Directive as well as the reporting tool that will be implemented.

The presentation will be preceded by a workshop organized by Centro di Studi Bancari, in collaboration with the Swiss Association of Trust Companies. A panel of experts consisting of trustees, bankers and attorneys will address the topic complex structures within the framework defined by the Common Reporting Standard in Switzerland and how they are to be dealt with. There will also be representatives of the State Secretary of Financial Affaires (SIF) and the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA).

In order to make full use of the time available and make the workshop as operative as possible, participants can email their questions in advance to the following e-mail address: workshopCRS@csbancari.ch. The submitted questions are treated as confidential.

The seminar has been accredited by STEP and grants 4 credits according to the STEP Member's CPD obligations.
